Kyle Boyd Announces For County Council
After weeks and months of consideration former SC House Candidate Kyle Boyd feels a calling to run for York County Council District 1. His announcement will take place at the Bandstand in downtown Fort Mill. The announcement will be made Thursday, March 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM.

Kyle is a principled leader who will bring fresh ideas to York County Council. He founded and currently serves as Headmaster of the Walnut Grove Christian School, which serves over 80 students and 15 teachers. Kyle Boyd is the true fiscal conservative, who pledges to lead on tax reform and will hide nothing in our budget, He will look at controlling county spending and bring accountability, and honesty and integrity back to the office
Boyd believes York County is a great place to raise a family with strong community and family values. Our leadership in County Council in District 1 has ultimately failed the people when it comes to accountability and what the true focus is when it comes to leading, the people.
“As your next councilman I will promise to bring leaders and the citizens back into working together for a common good and that is to work together to make sure we have the best opportunities possible for our community.”
Kyle Boyd:
-Wife: Shannon, graduate of Winthrop/ daughters Draye-8, Charleston “Charlie”-6, Autumn Skye-2.
-I am the principal and owner of Walnut Grove Christian School. My wife and I started the school in 2001 and it has grown from 8 students to over 80 since its inception. I was a public educator and my expectations as a teacher were to teach to the majority and not to the minority. In essence, teach to the 95% that were on level and not to the 5% that had educational struggles. We began Walnut Grove with the heart to get through to those students along with those that would desire a One on One Christian education.
-I grew up in Marietta, GA and graduated from Wheeler High School. I then attended College of Charleston and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education
-My core philosophies that make me the man that I am today were taught to me by both my mother and father. My mother always taught me to fight for what I believe in, even if it is not the most popular thing to do, and my father taught me that through hard work and dedication, that I can accomplish great things. My father also gave me the entrepreneurial example when it came to business. He started his own vinyl siding company in Marietta, GA (Lifetime Exteriors) that was based on integrity and character. He always said
“I teach this to all of my students today, “Having good character is making the correct moral and ethical decisions when no one is looking”.
